The journal "Algorithms for Molecular Biology" publishes research articles on new algorithms related to biological sequence and structure analysis, phylogenetic reconstruction, combinatorial algorithms, and machine learning. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: algorithms for RNA and protein structure analysis, gene prediction and genomic analysis, comparative sequence analysis and alignment, phylogenetics, gene expression, machine learning, and combinatorial algorithms. Manuscripts should describe applications to real-world data when appropriate. However, pure algorithm papers will also be welcomed if they are expected to be applied to biological data in the future or if they address the complexity or approximation issues of new computational problems in molecular biology. Articles that discuss novel software tools and include interesting algorithmic aspects will also be considered for publication.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Books Citation Format

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
