Carbon Balance and Management is an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal that covers all aspects of research related to the global carbon cycle, aiming to formulate and understand comprehensive policies. The global carbon cycle involves significant couplings between climate, atmospheric carbon dioxide, and the terrestrial and marine biospheres. The current transformations in the carbon cycle, driven by changes in climate and atmospheric composition, are widely regarded as posing potential threats to the biosphere and human well-being. Therefore, monitoring, understanding, and predicting the evolution of the carbon cycle across the entire biosphere (land and ocean) presents a major challenge for the scientific community. This requires interdisciplinary research and new methodologies to investigate the geographical and temporal distribution of carbon stocks and fluxes, the controls and feedback mechanisms of the carbon-climate system, as well as intervention points and windows of opportunity for managing the carbon-climate-human system. Carbon Balance and Management serves as a medium for researchers in this field to communicate their findings across disciplinary boundaries. By disseminating research, the journal aims to support the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and provide governments and non-governmental organizations with immediate access to emerging knowledge, including paradigm shifts and consensus viewpoints.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
