Integrating AI into curricula: project-based learning in digital entrepreneurship

The study examined similarities and differences in clothing consumption and daily practices of the four types of sustainable apparel consumers: classy affluents, chic thrifters, functional minimalists, and antifashion austeritics. The data were collected through in-depth interviews to allow participants describe consumption experiences in their words. The final sample consisted of 26 participants. The findings outline twelve dimensions that allow for a nuanced differentiation among the four groups' approaches and attitudes toward shopping, acquisition behaviour, daily clothing use, and garment care. This study extends the four consumer profiles of sustainable apparel consumer typology, further contributing to theorising the phenomenon of sustainable apparel consumption. Understanding how and why different types of sustainable consumers make their clothing choices will allow companies to better meet their needs through tailored product and service offerings as well as to develop effective marketing strategies.

An extension of a sustainable apparel consumer typology: classy affluents, chic thrifters, functional minimalists, and antifashion austeritics

The aim of the study was to assess and contrast psychosocial wellbeing of traditional and non-traditional students in fashion programme. The study was necessitated by a lack of evidence on students' general psychosocial wellbeing, especially the increasing number of non-traditional students who are choosing to pursue higher education for a myriad of reasons. The study utilised a cross-sectional approach in which data were gathered from a sample of 394 traditional and 207 non-traditional students. Data were analysed by means of independent t-test and Pearson correlation. The study found a high prevalence of anxiety–stress and depression among the participants which require attention, even though non-traditional students coped better and performed academically better than traditional students. Again, anxiety–stress and depression were positively related to academic workload such that students who experienced higher academic workloads tended to also experience higher levels of anxiety–stress and depression.

Online configurators enable the widespread customisation of products using personal devices. Through virtual simulation, the configuration process can become more interactive and immersive, opening new opportunities for a range of sectors. However, when it comes to fashion, the garment customisation process can be complicated and confusing for customers to navigate in an unguided environment. This study investigates established online garment customisation methods, to understand how the remote digital environment impacts customers' engagement with garment function, form and fit. Participants with previous garment customisation experience were asked to customise a shirt using an online configurator, and data was collected through in-depth interviews to understand customers' decision journeys and emotional responses toward a digitally configured product. The results indicate that, despite a positive experience in configuring appearance, customers' inability to visualise the customised garment on their body could result in less satisfaction with, and sense of ownership of, the designed digital outcome.
