The International Journal of Arts and Technology (IJART) focuses on the intersection of arts and new technologies, particularly in the realm of computational art. With the evolution of intelligent devices, sensors, and ambient intelligent/ubiquitous systems, various projects are exploring the design of intelligent artistic artifacts. The concept of ambient intelligence envisions technology as becoming invisible, embedded in our natural surroundings, available whenever needed, attuned to all senses, adaptive to users and context, and capable of autonomous action. This approach aims to bring art to the general public and offers artists creative tools to extend the grammar of traditional arts. Information environments are expected to be the major drivers of cultural development.
