Parasites and Vectors is an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal that focuses on the biology of parasites, parasitic diseases, intermediate hosts, vectors, and vector-borne pathogens. Manuscripts accepted for publication will be made available to readers worldwide immediately upon acceptance, with no access barriers. Authors retain copyright of their materials and may use or distribute them as needed. The journal welcomes manuscripts covering all aspects of basic and applied biology related to parasites, intermediate hosts, vectors, and vector-borne pathogens. In addition to traditional scientific fields, we aim to provide a platform for publishing rapidly evolving resources and technologies in the genomics of parasites, intermediate hosts, and vectors, as well as their implications for biological research. We are able to publish large datasets and extensive results, often related to genomic and post-genomic technologies, which are typically difficult to accommodate in traditional journals. Manuscripts addressing broader issues, such as the economics, social sciences, and global climate change related to parasites, vectors, and disease control, are also encouraged.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
