Acta Geotechnica is an international journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of fundamental and applied research in geotechnical engineering, an interdisciplinary field involving geological materials such as soils and rocks. The journal emphasizes the interaction between geomechanical models and their engineering applications. We welcome original research papers based on experimental, analytical, and/or numerical methods that explore fundamental concepts in geomechanics and their new applications in geotechnical engineering. The primary aim of the journal is to enhance the understanding of the fundamental mechanisms behind phenomena and processes related to earth materials, addressing issues ranging from the kilometer scale to the nanoscale, and their potential implications for geotechnical engineering. We strive to report and archive advancements in the field in a timely manner and encourage submissions of research papers, review articles, short notes, and letters.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Books Citation Format

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
