Evaluamos la diversidad de pastos nativos, pastos no nativos y aves de pastizal en el Desierto Chihuahuense en un contexto histórico-ambiental de presión antropogénica en los periodos de 1930-1964, 1965-1981 y 1982-2019. Analizamos la riqueza regional, la diversidad beta y la composición de 41 especies de aves de pastizal, 149 especies de pastos nativos y 60 especies de pastos no nativos, así como la prevalencia de pastos nativos y su correlación con las aves de pastizal en cada periodo. Los resultados mostraron una reducción de la diversidad beta en los 3 ensambles a lo largo del tiempo, sin relaciones significativas entre el ensamble de aves y la prevalencia de pastos nativos en el último periodo. Esto sugiere que la distribución actual de las aves de pastizal es independiente del tipo de pasto a nivel regional. La expansión de pastos no nativos en el Desierto Chihuahuense, favorecida por políticas públicas a lo largo del tiempo, ha conformado un ensamble de pastizales mixtos, lo que actualmente no afecta la composición de aves de pastizal a escala regional. Sugerimos realizar evaluaciones locales para comprender mejor la relación entre las aves de pastizal y los distintos pastos presentes en la región.

Influencia de la introducción de pastos no nativos en la riqueza de especies de los ensambles de aves en la región del Desierto Chihuahuense: un análisis temporal

奇瓦瓦沙漠地区外来牧草引入对鸟类群落物种丰富度的影响：一项时间分析

Endemic vascular plants are one of the main biodiversity indicators used to propose priority conservation areas. The richness of endemic species and corrected and weighted endemism are the most frequently used criteria, while anthropogenic or biocultural factors such as ethnobotanical value or ecological vulnerability are seldom considered. This work proposes priority conservation areas for Sinaloa, Mexico, considering the richness of its endemic species, corrected and weighted endemism, as well as ethnobotanical value, protection status, and the Priority Conservation Index (PCI). The analysis was performed in a 19 × 19 km grid and included 247 records of 78 species. The areas proposed when considering only the richness of endemic species and the weighted endemism coincided with previously known areas of high biodiversity in the state, which are areas of high collection effort and low anthropogenic impact. When considering the ethnobotanical value and protection status, the areas identified included those with greater anthropogenic impact, which contained species of biocultural and economic importance. When the PCI was used, both of these types of regions were identified. We therefore recommend this index as a better indicator to select priority areas.

Priority areas for conservation based on endemic vascular plant species and their biocultural attributes: a case study in Sinaloa, Mexico

基于特有维管植物物种及其生物文化属性的保护优先区域：墨西哥锡那罗亚州案例研究

The genus Telegeusis Horn is the most diverse of the family Telegeusidae, with 16 described species, most of them distributed in Mexico (13 species). Herein, we describe 4 new species based on material collected from Tamaulipas, Mexico: T. cieloensis sp. nov., T. estebani sp. nov., T. flavafusca sp. nov., and T. luismartinezi sp. nov. Distinguishing characters from closely related species are given and discussed, and the key for the species of the genus is updated.

New species of Telegeusis (Coleoptera: Telegeusidae) from northern Mexico

墨西哥北部新种Telegeusis（鞘翅目：Telegeusidae）

Se presenta información de las luciérnagas presentes en Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán y Quintana Roo, México, región que se denominó golfo-Caribe. Se provee la diagnosis de las especies presentes en esta región y que no se presentan en trabajos previos, así como una clave taxonómica a subfamilia, tribu y género. Se describe una especie nueva del género Magnoculus McDermott y 15 nuevas del género Photinus Laporte, con lo cual el número de especies de luciérnagas en México aumenta a 301. Para las especies nuevas se ilustran los hábitos dorsales y ventrales, así como los genitales de los machos. Para las especies ya descritas y que no se han abordado en trabajos anteriores, se muestran fotografías de los hábitos dorsales y ventrales. Asimismo, se presentan registros nuevos estatales para Photinus anagabrielae Zaragoza-Caballero y Gutiérrez-Carranza y P. hymenodrilus Zaragoza-Caballero y Gutiérrez-Carranza. Adicionalmente, se proponen los siguientes cambios nomenclaturales: Photinus albolimbatus Gemminger, 1870 comb. rest. = P. ivanovitschi Zaragoza-Caballero, Zurita-García y Ramírez-Ponce, 2023, syn. nov.

墨西哥湾-加勒比地区萤火虫及其16个新种描述

The Instituto de Biología of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IBUNAM) celebrates 95 years as a leading institution on biodiversity research. Besides developing frontier research, training of human resources, and public science communication, IBUNAM houses 10 National Zoological Collections and the National Herbarium of Mexico (MEXU). The specimens deposited in these collections are the foundation of numerous biological studies, from which ample genetic resources have been generated. Here we present an initial effort to link the specimens deposited at the National Biological Collections housed at IBUNAM to their public genetic resources, using MEXU’s Collection of Types of Vascular Plants as proof of concept. First, a list of the type specimens was retrieved from IBdata, the web system for consulting the records of the biological collections housed at IBUNAM. Then, the interface Entrez Programming Utilities of GenBank was used to search for the available genetic resources associated with the type specimens. New fields were incorporated into IBdata to facilitate access to the identified genetic resources. Future initiatives should promote access to the public metadata (e.g., molecular, morphological) associated to specimens of the biological collections housed at IBUNAM.

Los ambientes insulares de la zona de transición biótica del Atlántico mexicano son de los más diversos en cuanto a macroalgas se refiere, esto a pesar de que solo existe información florística para 2 de los 80 elementos insulares reportados para el área. En este trabajo se presenta, por primera vez, la diversidad taxonómica de 3 ambientes insulares de la zona. Se realizaron diversas recolectas de macroalgas marinas bentónicas en los arrecifes Bajos de Diez, Madagascar y Serpientes. Los especímenes recolectados fueron identificados morfológicamente con la finalidad de obtener la composición florística de cada arrecife y su riqueza específica. Se calculó la similitud entre la flora de los 3 arrecifes empleando un análisis de agrupamiento UPGMA bajo el índice de Jaccard. Se presenta un listado de 119 especies de macroalgas marinas bentónicas para los 3 arrecifes estudiados, de las cuales 9 constituyen nuevos registros para Yucatán. El arrecife con mayor diversidad taxonómica fue Bajos de Diez (78 spp.), seguido de Madagascar (53 spp.) y Serpientes (24 spp.). Bajos de Diez y Serpientes presentaron la mayor similitud florística entre sí. Exploraciones futuras de ambientes insulares desconocidos conducirán, con seguridad, al aumento de la diversidad florística en el área.
