Order preserving encryption is a type of homomorphic encryption in which the homomorphic operation is order comparison. This means that comparing encrypted data returns the same result than comparing the original data. This allows to order encrypted data without the need of decryption. A possible use for this kind of cryptosystems is in databases, where a record field may be encrypted and still permit range queries. An important problem is determining how good a particular order preserving encryption scheme is. In fact, characteristics of order preserving cryptosystems make tradition al security analysis useless. In this paper, we propose two different methodologies, applicable to most order preserving schemes, that can be used to determine their security by analyzing their randomness. The first one relies on techniques of noise analysis by converting the enc ryption function into a noise signal whose power distribution will be considered. The second one relies on techniques of error analysis. It is based on the computation of the mean absolute errors between the encryption function and several approximations defined by small sets of plaintext-ciphertext pairs. As a derived result of the first of these methodologies, a new order preserving cryptosystem is proposed.

Security Analysis of Order Preserving Symmetric Cryptography

In this paper, a numerical method for nonlinear fractional-order differential equations with constant or time-varying delay is devised. The order here is an arbitrary positive real number, and the differential operator is the Grunwald-Letnikov derivative. The detailed error analysis for this algorithm is given, meanwhile, the convergence of the iteration algorithm is proved. Compared with the exact analytical solution, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A Numerical Method for Delayed Fractional-Order Differential Equations: Based on G-L Definition

The effects of nonlinear ultrasonic propagation on high-speed ultrasonic gas flow measurement are analyzed based on the sound line equation derived from Snell's geometric acoustic law. A math ematical model for the ultrasonic propagation path in ultrasonic flowmeter pipe is built, and the relationship between x and r is calcula ted by MATLAB programming and ode45 simulating. The ultrasonic propagation path at the flow rate of 3 � 30m/s is simulated in the assumed boundary conditions of the pipeline, transducer installation and fluid state. It shows that the nonlinear propagation characte ristics cause the large deviations of the position of received ultrasonic waves in conditions of different flow rates, which strongly aff ects the stability and accuracy of flow measurement. The simulated offset data of the receiving position are useful for the high-s peed gas ultrasonic flowmeter installation and dry calibration on clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters.

This paper attempts to present an expository summary on the numerical non-robustness issues in geometric computation. We try to give the answers to two questions: (1) why numerical non-robustness issues occur in geometric computing, and (2) how to deal with them in practice. We first describe the theoretical causes of the problematic robustness behaviors, and then present several popular and practical solutions to the non-robustness problem. Note that these algorithm-specific or general solutions are only part of the existing efforts to attack the numerical robustness problem, but are quite useful in practical applications. Additionally, geometric examples and sample codes are included for illustrations.

Numerical Robustness in Geometric Computation: An Expository Summary

几何计算中的数值鲁棒性：一个阐述性总结

In the present paper, we extend our previous work of the therm al effects on propagation of transverse waves in anisotropi c incompressible dissipative pre-stressed plate, to invest igate the effect of both thermal stress and magnetic field on t ra sverse waves propagation in the medium. Biot incremental deformation th eory has been used. The governing equations of transverse wa v propagation are derived considering the magnetic forces ap plied on the plate through Maxwell equation. The influences o f changes in anisotropy-type, thermal stress, initial stresses and m agnetic field are investigated. The velocities of propagati on as well as damping are discussed. Analytical analysis and Numerical computat ions reveal that the velocities of the transverse waves depe nd upon the anisotropy, thermal stress, initial stresses as well as mag netic field.

Oscillation Criteria for Third-Order Nonlinear Functional Difference Equations with Damping

带阻尼项的三阶非线性泛函差分方程的振动准则

Image segmentation is applied widely to image processing and object recognition. Threshold segmentation is a simple and important method in grayscale image segmentation. Information entropy can characterize the grayscale in formation of image and distinguish between the objectives and background. In this paper, we use exponential entropy instead of logarithmic entropy and propose a new multilevel thresholds image segmentation method based on maximum entropy and adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO). This proposed algorithm takes full account of the spatial information and the gray information to decrease the computing quantity. The APSO takes advantage of the characteristics of particle swarm optimization, through adaptively adjust particles flying speed to improve evolutional process of basic PSO. Standard test images and remote sensing image are segmented in experiment and compared with other related segmentation methods. Experimental results show that the APSO method can quickly converge with high computational efficiency.

Maximum Entropy for Image Segmentation based on an Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization

Measuring productivity on a construction job site is not an easy task because collecting its reliable data consistently from the job site requires a lot of personnel efforts causing extra time and cost. I n order to measure the job site productivity, for instance, basically two types of data such as man-hours and installed work quantities are required as an input and an output factor to calculate the values of the productivity. This paper suggests an efficient automatic man-hou rs measurement system for analyzing and collecting the data relating to the input factor by the analysis of video images instead of the direc t observation of construction job sites by a work manager. The proposed method utilizes the image processing technologies for analyzing the video images of the construction related works operated on the job sites. An image processing based algorithm is developed for tracking the three different groups of construction work crews under the considerations of complex construction work environment. It includes the following main algorithms: BGS (background subtraction), worker detection, and worker tracking algorithm. The proposed method has been applied and verified under various indoor and outdoor experimental test environments. Around 84% of recognition rate for counting man-hours of construction work crews is achieved by the proposed algorithm. The data acquired by the proposed method can be used as an essential and valuable input data to analyze and control the productivity of construction job site su bsequently.
