The current pilot study examined how well a reflective moral-choice video game predicted the rating scale scores of aggression types. To begin, the authors used a coding system to examine in-game proactive and reactive behaviors. This analysis resulted in a tallied score for each construct. These game-based scores were then included in regression models, examining how well within-game behaviors predict scores on a pre-existing rating scale of both proactive and reactive aggression. Findings indicated that game-based proactive scores were not predictive of proactive aggression ratings; however, reactive game-based scores were predictive of reactive aggression ratings. Implications for these findings are discussed.

Can Video Games Be Used as a Stealth Assessment of Aggression?

User ratings for online services can be considered a categorization of the services, forming an initial clustering of them. Online service reputation measurement based on user ratings can be viewed as a further clustering of services based on the users' categorization. However, current reputation measurement methods do not consider the consistency between service reputation and users' categorization of services, leading to unreasonable outcomes. In this paper, we propose a reputation measurement method for online services based on consensus clustering. First, a user-service rating matrix is established to obtain the categorization of services by users. Next, a similarity graph is constructed using a designed similarity measurement function, which is then segmented to generate meta-clusters. Finally, the correlation between clusters and user ratings is computed to determine service reputations with maximum consistency. Simulation experiments on the MovieLens dataset are conducted to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

Consensus Clustering for Simulation-Based Reputation Measurement for Online Services

This study aimed to understand comprehensively the motivations and constraints underlying fantasy sports participation among young adults (18-25) in India. The study applied a motivation and constraint model in the Indian landscape, wherein youth groups who played and did not play fantasy sports were surveyed. Given the issue of the legality of fantasy games in India and its linkage with gambling, two additional factors of addiction and morality were added. The findings of the multiple regression show that participation in fantasy sports among the youth is influenced by intrinsic motivation instead of monetary benefits, pride, or social interaction. Constraints affecting the potential participation of non-players include addiction, consuming valuable time, causing loss of money, and perceived capitalistic exploitation for stakeholders' profit. Producers of fantasy games need to enhance engagement levels to foster intrinsic motivation instead of external among the youth and safeguard them from addiction and gambling.

Fantasy Sports Participation in Young Adults

Students are the customers of higher education, and their satisfaction directly influences service quality in the tertiary sector. It is essential, therefore, to research students' views. This can be done by applying important-performance analysis (IPA), an effective tool for achieving satisfaction. The study described in this article focuses on data obtained from research into the Programme and Project Management major which is a Master's program in the United Kingdom. The course, Managing the multi-project and programme environment (MMPE), combines theory with practice through offline-business simulation. The program focuses on imparting skills to graduate students in the management field. The performance and importance of thirteen items were connected to motivation and teamwork. The results revealed that not all student respondents are satisfied with the simulation. Utilizing IPA, the research suggests that tutors should prioritize improving communication and relationships among both the programme and project teams, specifying accountability and work allocations, motivating students to achieve goals, and refining feedback methods. These recommendations could be applied to other business simulations that aim to improve student satisfaction.

Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) in Researching the Satisfaction of Simulation

Implementing digital learning approaches in fragile contexts offers opportunities and challenges at the same time. The article describes an ongoing project by the German development cooperation organization GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) with the target to reforest areas of Afghanistan and conduct corresponding capacity building activities in the country. The international and Afghan stakeholders are facing a variety of challenges such as threats on personal safety and security, connectivity, and electricity breakdowns as well as working with a partwise illiterate and digital illiterate target group. The three steps of the capacity building process of the project will be described and explained – the training of trainers, the training of the NGOs, as well as the training of the final target group. Elements of the digital training are gamified and adapted to the Afghan culture, specifically focusing on storytelling, roleplay, as well as social learning.

This study presents a comprehensive framework for substation siting to address power demand and urbanization challenges. It integrates economic, social, and environmental dimensions to ensure reliable power supply systems. Using simulation techniques, the paper evaluates substation placement by analyzing load distribution, land use, neighborhood satisfaction, and construction costs. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) assesses load distribution, while a hierarchical clustering algorithm maximizes land use efficiency. Neighborhood satisfaction is measured using hierarchical analysis and fuzzy logic. Construction costs are optimized via a genetic algorithm. These simulations formulate a multi-criteria decision-making tool, proposing an optimized siting strategy balancing technical, socio-economic, and environmental considerations. The framework enhances the accuracy of substation siting studies and provides practical implementation guidance, offering new insights and refined methodologies for modern power system planning and development.

Simulation Framework for Substation Siting Integrating Load, Land Use, Neighborhood, and Cost Analysis

To provide optimal cushioning capacity, an in-depth understanding of the biomechanical interactions between the foot and therapeutic insoles is mandatory. The goal of this study was to quantify the hardness of plantar soft tissues (PSTs) and investigate the potential association between the hardness of PSTs and the optimum hardness of insole materials. The authors tested the hardness of PSTs in eight plantar regions by using a durometer to examine 30 cadaveric feet. The effects of hardness and loading magnitude on peak plantar pressure at the heel–insole interface were investigated in simulated weight-bearing tests. Significant effects of insole hardness on the cushioning capacity were observed among different loading conditions (p&lt;0.01). No significant association was found between the hardness of individual-specific PSTs and optimum cushioning materials (p&lt;0.05). This study provides quantitative data on PST hardness, and this knowledge may be valuable for developing insole materials with similar hardness to the PST in order to achieve optimum pressure relief under the foot.
