Carbon Letters aims to be a comprehensive journal covering carbon materials and carbon-rich molecules. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, diamond, graphite, carbon, semi-coke, mesophase materials, carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphene, carbon black, activated carbon, pyrolytic carbon, and glass-like carbon. The journal welcomes research papers on new carbon and composite materials related to the aforementioned carbon types. Papers concerning organic substances, including coal, will only be considered when they are closely related to the obtained carbon materials. Carbon Letters also seeks to keep up with new developments in its field and collaborate to find alternative energy solutions to address current challenges such as the greenhouse effect and ozone layer depletion. Clean energy technologies, including renewable energy fundamentals, energy storage and conversion, solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, nuclear energy, biomass energy, and hydrogen production technology, are also within the scope of the journal. Carbon Letters invites original reports of fundamental research from various branches of carbon science and technology theory and practice.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
