Computation is a journal dedicated to computational science and engineering. The main topics include computational biology, covering but not limited to bioinformatics, mathematical modeling, simulation, and prediction of nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) and protein sequences, modeling of pathways and genetic interactions; neuroscience computation, including neural modeling, brain theory, and neural networks; computational chemistry, encompassing new theories and methodologies, including their applications in molecular dynamics, electronic structure computation, density functional theory, and computational methods for designing and characterizing materials; and computation in engineering, which includes new theories, methodologies, and applications of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), optimization techniques and their applications to multidisciplinary systems, system identification, reduced-order modeling of engineering systems, and parallel algorithms and high-performance computing in engineering.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors

Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
