The journal "Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems" is dedicated to the rapidly emerging field of agroecology and the sustainability of food systems. Agroecology lays the groundwork for developing alternative food systems of the future by linking scientific inquiry and production practices with transformative social action. This journal focuses on the necessary changes in the design and management of our food systems to balance the use of natural resources and environmental protection with the demands of production, economic viability, food security, and social welfare for all. It examines our current food systems from production to consumption and emphasizes the urgent need for a transition to long-term sustainability. The journal promotes research and application in agroecology to develop alternatives to complex issues such as resource depletion, environmental degradation, loss of agricultural biodiversity, persistent global hunger, integration and industrialization of food systems, climate change, and loss of farmland. It adopts a food systems approach and seeks agroecological experiences that are farm-based, participatory, transformative, and supported by comprehensive sustainability analysis and assessment methods.

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
