Genes & Diseases is an international journal dedicated to molecular and translational medicine. The journal primarily publishes research on the molecular basis and experimental therapeutics of human diseases. Publication formats include full-length research articles, review articles, short communications, correspondence, perspectives, commentaries, views on news, and research watches.\n\nAims and Scope\n\nGenes & Diseases publishes rigorously peer-reviewed, high-quality original articles and authoritative reviews focusing on the molecular bases of human diseases. Emphasis is placed on hypothesis-driven, mechanistic studies relevant to the pathogenesis and/or experimental therapeutics of human diseases. The journal features a global authorship and covers a broad range of basic and translational biomedical research in molecular biology, molecular genetics, and cell biology, including but not limited to cell proliferation and apoptosis, signal transduction, stem cell biology, developmental biology, gene regulation and epigenetics, cancer biology, immunity and infection, neuroscience, disease-specific animal models, gene and cell-based therapies, and regenerative medicine.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
