The applications of fluid flow and heat transfer between coaxial double-revolving disks are diverse and can be found in various engineering and scientific domains. In general, the utilization of engine oil ( EO) mixed with hybrid nanoparticles serves various purposes in engine cooling, such as maintaining viscosity-temperature properties, preventing corrosion, and achieving other cooling-related objectives. This investigation focuses on the Darcy-Forchheimer flow of a non-Newtonian Reiner-Rivlin hybrid nanofluid confined between double-revolving disks. The hybrid nanoparticles used include cadmium telluride ( CdTe) and titanium dioxide ( TiO 2 ), combined with the base fluid engine oil. The dimensional flow equations are converted into dimensionless forms using suitable similarity transformations. Subsequently, a semi-analytical methodology known as the homotopy analysis method ( HAM) is utilized to tackle this problem. Graphs are used to determine the effects of the various flow parameters of the hybrid nanofluids on the velocities, temperature, skin friction coefficient, and the Nusselt number. After validating the findings against previous research, an attractive agreement was observed. Some major outcomes from this present problem are that axial, radial, and temperature profiles increase with the rise of the cross-viscosity parameter while the tangential velocity decreases. Radial velocity increased, and tangential velocity diminished with an enhanced magnetic field parameter. Radial velocity is increased for higher values of the dimensionless forced parameter. For higher values of the porosity parameter, the temperature profile improved. Also, the exploration of the Nusselt number and skin friction for the disks, incorporating the effects of a magnetic field and porous medium, reveals that skin friction for both disks increase with the rising Reynolds number and volume fraction of the cadmium telluride nanoparticles.

Hybrid nanofluids (HNF’s) can perform as promising heat transfer fluids because of their enhanced thermo-physical characteristics. However, there are certain limitations of using them at higher concentrations. Moreover, lot of works on hybrid nanofluids focussed greatly on assessing thermal conductivity and viscosity. But the other parameters like specific heat and density also play an important role in heat transfer applications in addition to the volume concentration. Also, the effect of the combination of different nano particles on heat transfer is also a crucial area. Hence in this work, it is aimed to determine the thermo-physical characteristics of MWCNT/ZnO hybrid nanofluids (70:30) at varied loading and temperatures. Two step strategy was employed to prepare the (HNF’s) at distinct loadings varying in the range of 0.01%–0.05% and at a range of temperatures of 30°C–70°C with base fluid as water. The mixture’s ratios were 30:70 of MWCNT and ZnO, respectively. HNF’s exhibited an improved thermal conductivity in comparison to the original fluid, which was 80% more than the base fluid. With the rise in the temperature, the density, viscosity and specific heat all trended downward. There is an increase in the density and viscosity with the increase in the volume concentration of the hybrid nano particles. This work suggested that the MWCNT and ZnO hybrid nanofluids are better heat transfer fluids for enhancing the heat transfer and can emerge as efficient coolants for the applications of heat transfer.

Influence of MWCNT/ZnO hybrid nanofluids’ thermo-physical characteristics for heat transfer applications

The study focuses on the implementation of neural networks in analyzing the behavior of Prandtl nanofluid near a extending surface in the existence of dual diffusion. The research investigates the merged consequence of thermal and concentration gradients on the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics using advanced computational techniques. The investigation delves into the phenomenon of double diffusion in the flow of Prandtl nanofluid near a stretching surface (DD-PNSS), employing the Levenberg-Marquardt scheme with Artificial Neural Networks (LMS-ANNs). The application of similarity variables converts the non-linear partial differential equations into non-linear ordinary differential equations. Through the application of the Lobatto IIIa formula in a three-stage process, various data sets are generated for the LMS-ANNs by varying parameters such as the Prandtl fluid parameter ([Formula: see text]), Prandtl number (Pr), Brownian motion parameter (Nb), thermophoresis parameter (Nt), and Dufour-solutal Lewis number (Ld). The range of parameter α is from 2 to 3.5, parameter β from 0.1 to 0.9, Nb is from 0.1 to 0.4, Nt is from 0.1 to 0.7, Le is from 1 to 3 and Ld is from 0.1 to 0.5. The intrinsic behavior of embedded parameters on dimensionless velocity, temperature, solutal concentration, and nanoparticle concentration profiles is graphically evaluated. The proposed LMS-ANNs model is meticulously tested, validated, and trained using a multi-stage approach, and its performance is compared to established references to ensure its reliability. The effectiveness of the suggested LMS-ANNs model is further affirmed through regression analysis, Mean Squared Error (MSE) evaluation, and histogram studies, showcasing an exceptional accuracy level ranging from 10 −08 to 10 −10 , setting it apart from alternative approaches and reference models.

Computational study with neural networks to double diffusion in Prandtl thermal nanofluid flow adjacent to a stretching surface design with numerical treatment

A computational study on the effect of magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection of nanofluid flow in a square split lid driven cavity with a block placed near the bottom wall is undertaken. Two different nanoparticles gold and alumina are considered for the study. The observations for the study are obtained by solving the non-dimensionalized governing equations by Finite Element Method with variational approach as accessible with the FreeFEM++ software. The results for different Prandtl numbers ( Pr), Richardson number ( Ri), volume fractions of nanoparticles [Formula: see text], Reynolds number (Re), and MHD parameters (M) are displayed through graphs and figures. It has been observed that the pressure distribution significantly increases with the increment in Reynolds number but both the nanoparticles behave differently. The magnetic field enhancement ( M = 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 and 0.9) decreases the velocity within the cavity. The convective heat transfer is faster in the case of Reynolds number ( Re) = 100 than in the case of Reynolds number ( Re) = 14 or 21. And also increasing the Richardson Number from 0.1 to 1.0, the average Nusselt number shows increment of ∼9.5% and with Ri = 1.0 to 10.0, an increment of ∼3% whereas decrement with higher Reynolds Number ( Re = 21, 100) for Gold and Allumina nanoparticles respectively. The present simulations have various applications for the study of natural phenomenon like climate control, meteorological and geophysical activities and industrial applications like cooling of electronics equipment, heat exchanger.

Nanofluids are smart fluids, which are very useful for heat and mass transfer enhancement. They are very much used in industrial, transportation, biomedical, and electronics fields. In the present research, we examine the nanofluid flow across a curved stretching sheet (CSS). Also, this work’s noteworthy originality is its discussion of the impacts of the physical parameters on the ternary hybrid nanofluid flow and heat transfer. Furthermore, the simulation considers nanofluids with water as the base fluid. The Koo–Kleinstreuer–Li (KKL) model examines the viscosity and effective thermal conductivity of fluid flow with suspended nanoparticles. The governing equations of the momentum and the temperature are transformed into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by similarity transformations. These equations are then solved using a Secant iteration method combined with a Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg (RKF) integration scheme with a shooting technique. Through graphs and tables, the influences of the relevant non-dimensional parameters are presented and analyzed. The findings show that an increase in the curvature parameter and the Biot number is to increase the temperature gradient. The Streamline profiles for various values of the magnetic parameter are also analyzed through figures. We believe that this research has significant implications in biomedical devices and pharmaceutical fluid preparation in biomedical sciences. Some of them are high temperature and cooling processes, paints, space technology, medicines, cosmetics, conductive coatings, bio-sensors, and to name a few.
