Earth Systems and Environment (ESEV) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on publishing original research articles and reviews related to Earth systems and the environment. The journal aims to deepen the understanding of natural processes and their complex interactions with human factors to address various environmental issues. ESEV disseminates high-quality information covering cutting-edge developments in Earth systems and environmental research, characterized by its multidisciplinary nature. It encompasses fields such as climate and atmospheric sciences, agricultural sciences related to Earth and the environment, natural disasters and engineering, marine sciences, ecology, desertification, pollution, geological environmental hazards, droughts and floods, dynamics of the hydrosphere, lithosphere, and troposphere, waste management, numerical models of Earth systems, geographic information systems, and remote sensing. The journal invites researchers in environmental Earth sciences to submit papers, technical notes, comprehensive reports, case studies, reviews, brief communications, and discussions. It is published in collaboration with SPRINGER and King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and is indexed by WEB OF SCIENCE ESCI and SCOPUS (2021 citation score = 6.5). Each year, the authors of the best papers receive awards and rewards from KAU. All submitted papers undergo originality and similarity screening before being handled by topic editors. The journal employs a double-blind peer review process, with the first round of peer review typically completed within 30-45 days. In most cases, two to four rounds of revisions are required before final acceptance. ESEV is committed to adhering to ethical standards at all stages of the publication process, following the COPE Code of Conduct and SPRINGER editorial policies to maintain the integrity of the scientific record. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal follows COPE guidelines on how to handle potential misconduct. Authors should avoid distorting research findings, which could undermine trust in the journal and ultimately harm the entire scientific endeavor. Adhering to the rules of good scientific practice can help maintain the integrity of research and its presentation.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
