Purpose. Irisin is released in response to exercise, but the regulatory effect of exercise on serum irisin is controversial. Evidence linking irisin with muscle mass or fat mass is limited. Little is known about the connection of irisin with the type and intensity of exercise in athletes. This study sought to determine serum irisin concentration (SIC) in professional athletes and non-athletes and assess its association with anthropometric indices, including body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), lean body mass (LBM), and fat mass (FM).&#x0D; Material and methods. We conducted a case-control study on 72 athletes and non-athletes comprising three age-and sex-matched groups with a 1:1 sex ratio: 24 footballers (aerobic endurance exercise), 24 bodybuilders (anaerobic strength exercise), and 24 nonexercised controls. Standard protocols for measuring anthropometric indices and quantifying SIC were followed.&#x0D; Results. Whole athletes had higher SIC than controls, with footballer men and women having higher values than bodybuilders and controls. Athletic men and women exhibited higher SIC than control men. SIC showed no sex differences within each experimental and control group. SIC negatively correlated with BW, BMI, LBM, MUAC, and WHtR in athlete women, BMI and MUAC in bodybuilders, FM in whole footballers, and BW in total control, but positively correlated with overall bodybuilders.&#x0D; Conclusions. The findings indicate that irisin is exercise-dependent, as it is enhanced in aerobic endurance more than in anaerobic strength exercise but is gender-independent. The results also support the relationship between irisin and body composition, as it clearly correlates negatively with BW, BMI, FM, and WHtR, suggesting a possible interplay between irisin and BW homeostasis for health maintenance.

Purpose. This study aims to explore the correlations of physical activity, musculoskeletal disorders and academic motivation among senior high school students due to the COVID-19 pandemic which had impacted all aspects of life, including education system, especially in Indonesia. Material and Methods. The method used is correlational research. The participant consisted of 139 students from senior high school 8 Jakarta in Indonesia by sharing an online questionnaire. International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to evaluate physical activity. Nordic Body Map was used to evaluate the musculoskeletal disorders, and academic motivation scale (AMS) was used to evaluate their academic motivation. The data in the study were analyzed using the Spearman rank test to determine the significance of the relationship, the direction of the relationship and the strength of the relationship between variables. Results. The result showed that there was no correlation between physical activity, academic motivation, and musculoskeletal disorders in students. Conclusions. Thus, this study confirmed that there was no correlation between the variables of physical activity, academic motivation, and musculoskeletal disorders. Physical activity, musculoskeletal disorders and academic motivation of high school students: is there a correlation?

高中学生体育活动、肌肉骨骼疾病与学业动机之间是否存在关联？

Background and Purpose This study aimed to compare between the impact of virtual reality and mirror therapy on balance, muscle strength and quality of life in unilateral cerebral palsy children. Materials and methods This study involved 36 children of both sexes with unilateral cerebral palsy. Their ages ranged between 6 to 10 years and their motor function ability fell between levels I and II on Growth Motor Functional Classification System (GMFCS). Their grade of spasticity on Modified Ashworth scale was from 1+ to 2. They were allocated to one of two study groups (A and B). A designated physical rehabilitation program was given to both groups. furthermore, group A received a wii fit virtual reality-based program while, group B received mirror therapy. Children in both groups received treatment for three consecutive months, three days per week, 60 minutes per day. Balance, muscle strength and quality of life were assessed using biodex balance system, lafayette hand-held dynamometer and pediatric quality of life inventory cerebral palsy Module respectively for each child in two groups pre and post treatment program. Results Children in the two groups demonstrated a noticeable improvement in the post-treatment average scores of all evaluated outcomes (p 0.001) when compared to pre-treatment average scores. By comparing posttreatment values of both groups, group A showed a noticeably greater improvement than group B (p 0.05). Conclusions Both virtual reality and mirror therapy may be recommended to enhance balance, muscle strength and quality of life in children with unilateral cerebral palsy. Virtual reality is more beneficial in enhancing balance, muscular strength and quality of life among those children.

Background and purpose Outline the importance of sports encyclopedias as a form of spreading and promoting a healthy lifestyle and popularizing high-achieving sports for the social and humanitarian development of Ukraine. Material and methods In the article, the primary used research methods are overview and descriptive analysis (an overview of academic publications indexed in Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and National Library of Ukraine, as well as data on Ukrainian encyclopedias from the Corpus of Ukrainian Encyclopedias). This is a basis for descriptive analysis the capability of sports activities to improve the physical and mental (emotional, moral-volitional) resilience of the Ukraine’s population during wartime difficulty, the overall health level of the nation, and the demographic and accordingly economic situation in the country. Additionally, based on descriptive analysis, the potential of encyclopedias on sports and athletes in promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical activities among the population is examined). Reflection method is also used: authors offer a vision of how encyclopedic knowledge about sports and athletes should be structured to help improve the nation’s health, demographic, and economic situations, and thus resistance to Russian aggression). Results The war in Ukraine significantly damages the population’s health, adversely affecting the demographic and economic situation in the country. As a result, state humanitarian policy must focus on finding ways to counter these threats and emerging from this crisis. The article emphasizes that targeted, systematic development of sports and physical culture should be among the state policy priorities, as sports and physical activities improve population health. Authors show that promoting physical culture and a healthy lifestyle is crucial in this process, necessitating the studying of various information sources that can disseminate sports relevant knowledge and identifying the most effective ones. Conclusions Based on extensive justifications, the article proposes the idea of creating a Ukrainian sports encyclopedia as a means of promoting a healthy lifestyle among the Ukrainians, particularly essential in the post-war period. This would contribute to Ukraine's restoration by improving its demographic, socio-economic situation, and encouraging the return of Ukrainian refugees. The potential of a sports encyclopedia lies in highlighting and popularizing distinguished athletes who have achieved success and are respected globally, serving as role models, especially for the young generation of the country. The encyclopedic promotion of famous Ukrainian athletes is considered an effective mechanism for fostering a healthy lifestyle and patriotic feelings among Ukrainian citizens. The preparation of such a publication should rely on global encyclopedic-biographical experience, modern information technologies, and academic knowledge.

Sport and physical activities: actual Ukraine’s strategic narrative (in terms of encyclopedias)

Purpose: to determine the comparative analysis of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the level of stress of students of sports faculties in Indonesia and Malaysia.&#x0D; Material and methods. 316 students of the Faculty of Sports Science of Indonesia and Malaysia were sampled from this study: 159 students of the Faculty of Sports Science of Indonesia, and 157 students of Sports Science of Malaysia. This research is a comparative analytical observational descriptive study conducted with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in several universities both in Indonesia and Malaysia. The subjects of this study were students from Indonesia and Malaysia who took part in online learning by the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire for musculoskeletal disorders using a Nordic Body Map while a stress level questionnaire used an MSSQ (Medical Student Stressor Questionnaire). Data analysis techniques use descriptive tests through percentage distribution and comparison tests.&#x0D; The results. Based on the results of the Independent Sample t-test, a calculated t-value of 4.076 with a significance value of 0.000 was obtained. Because the significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (p&lt;0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in musculoskeletal disorders between Indonesian and Malaysian students. The most common musculoskeletal disorder experienced by Malaysian students is a disorder of the lower back with an average of 3.15. Based on the results of the Independent Sample t-test analysis, a calculated t-value of 3.624 with a significance value of 0.000 was obtained. Because the significance value of 0.000 is less than 0.05 (p&lt;0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in stress levels between Indonesian and Malaysian students. Based on the results of the analysis, the average value of stress levels in Indonesian students was 15.66 while the average value of stress levels in Malaysian students was 17.77. It can be interpreted that students from Malaysia have a higher level of stress compared to Indonesian students.&#x0D; Conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: Malaysian students experience higher musculoskeletal disorders in the lower back and high-stress levels due to online learning compared to Indonesian students.

Comparative analysis of the musculoskeletal system disorders and the stress level of sports faculties students in Indonesia and Malaysia

Background and purpose Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic illness affecting the immune system. Women are more likely than men to be diagnosed with this condition. It causes widespread muscle and bone pain and is most commonly experienced by people between the ages of 20 and 60. Recent studies have shown that people with fibromyalgia may experience heart abnormalities and arrhythmias after exercise. This study explores how different aerobic exercise levels affect pain, cholesterol levels, and overall quality of life (QoL) for women with fibromyalgia. Materials and Methods In a study conducted at Abu-Kabir Central Hospital in Al Sharquia, 60 women diagnosed with fibromyalgia were randomly allocated to a moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (AE) (n=30) or a low-intensity aerobic exercise AE (n=30). The women were between the ages of 30 and 40 and had a body mass index (BMI) between 20 and 26 kg/m2. Before and after the intervention, all patients in both groups were evaluated using a visual analog scale (VAS), Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), symptom severity scale (SS-scale), and cholesterol level measurements. Results After the intervention, the group that engaged in moderate-intensity aerobic exercise showed significant improvements in all measured outcomes compared to the group that engaged in low-intensity aerobic exercise. The effect size was high for VAS (MD = -3.73; ES = 0.395 and p = 0.001), cholesterol level (MD = -52.19; ES = 0.681 and p = 0.001), FIQ (MD=-36.26; ES = 0.746 and p = 0.001), and symptom severity scale (MD = -473; ES = 0.273 and p = 0.001). Conclusion Our research has shown that moderate-intensity AE performed at 60% to 70% of maximum heart rate, is more effective in reducing pain, improving overall QoL, and lowering cholesterol levels than low-intensity AE at 45% to 55%.

Effects of varied aerobic exercise on health related outcomes of fibromyalgia patients: a randomized controlled trial

Background. Developing children's cognitive since childhood is very important for parents so that children can develop optimally. There are many benefits if children have good cognitive abilities or skills, such as reasoning and solving problems they face better. Cognitive abilities are very important for children because they are a provision in living everyday life and working as adults. Purpose. Therefore, this study aimed to look into how brain jogging affected elementary school school students' cognitive capacities. Material and methods. An experimental methodology with a pretest-posttest-one-group design was employed in this investigation. The research instrument used was the Intelligenz Structure Test (IST) which was used as a memory test; the Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST) was used to test attention; and the Grid Concentration Test (GCT) was used to test concentration. The sample in this study were elementary school students with an average age of 10-11 years who joined six elementary schools in Sumedang Regency, Indonesia, totaling 75 people, consisting of 40 boys and 35 girls. Non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling method, or purposive sampling only, was used. That is, the location of the sample is close to the research location. Results. Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test using the Paired Sample t-test, the difference in the average pre-test and post-test data from the child's cognitive ability through the IST test obtained a P-value of 0.000. Then the DSST test obtained a P-value of 0.000, and the GCT test obtained a P-value of 0.000. Thus, there is a difference between the average pre-test and post-test scores indicated by a P-value less than 0.05. Conclusions. The results of this study prove that the brain jogging program significantly affects the cognitive abilities of elementary school children. The significant effect is because the brain jogging program focuses on several coordination activities that lead to mental processes related to abilities in the form of general recognition, which is mental and is marked by the representation of an object in a person's mental picture, whether in the form of symbols, responses, ideas or ideas, and values ​​or considerations.
