π-Radical conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) are highly appealing for optoelectronics, especially optical response-based sensor devices, and their thin film fabrication is demanding for developing functional devices. Toward this, neutral, π-radicalic CMP films (poly-D•, poly-T•: SBET-488 m2/g) of nanometer thickness (24, 33 nm) were fabricated from air stable, radicalic carbazole-substituted polychlorotriphenyl methane (PTM) radical monomers using electropolymerization method. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra with g value of 2.0029 revealed radical nature of monomers, polymer thin films. The monomers in solution and polymer thin films are reversibly reduced electrochemically as observed by cyclic voltammetry measurements. The radicalic CMP films (poly-T•, poly-D•) displayed intervalence charge-transfer (IV-CT) transition at ∼750 nm, which was not observed in their hydrogenated polymer films (poly-TH; SBET-385 m2/g, poly-DH). Poly-T• and poly-D• (both of yellow color) easily undergo a reductive conversion into anionic poly-T– and poly-D– (both of deep blue color) by simply being immersed into a n-Bu4NOH solution. All the properties of thin films are also compared with the chemically synthesized bulk hydrogenated (bulk-poly-TH) and radicalic polymer (bulk-poly-T•) powders. Our results demonstrate the designed synthesis of carbazolic radical monomers and utility of electropolymerization method to achieve π-radical CMP thin films for potential application in magnetoelectronics and sensor devices.

Neutral, π-Radical-Conjugated Microporous Polymer Films of Nanoscale Thickness for Potential Use in Magnetoelectronics and Sensor Devices

Under the threat of the two major dilemmas of energy scarcity and environmental degradation, the development of sustainable, clean, and efficient energy sources has become increasingly urgent. In recent years, electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) has become a promising method for the preparation of energy sources for sustainable hydrogen production. However, the monolithic nature of the active site/active phase of metallic transition metal disulfides (MTMDs) limits the performance of HER to that of commercial Pt/C catalysts. Herein, we report the hydrothermal growth of VS2/Ti3C2 heterogeneous structure on MXene substrates for the first time. The VS2/Ti3C2 heterogeneous structure exhibits extremely high catalytic activity and electrochemical durability. Exhibiting an overpotential of only 33 mV and a Tafel slope of 25.93 mV dec–1 in 0.5 M H2SO4 acidic electrolyte, the catalysts showed excellent durability over 24 h and near 100% Faraday efficiency. Meanwhile, the formation of heterogeneous structure was also demonstrated by both X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) data. Theoretical studies confirmed that the successful construction of Ti–S bonds in VS2/Ti3C2 heterogeneous structure accelerates the charge transfer rate, which modifies the electrical properties of VS2 nanoflowers and the hydrogen adsorption properties at the Ti-edge and the S-edge. This work accelerated the charge transfer rate of the electrocatalyst through the formation of a heterogeneous structure between VS2 and Ti3C2, providing a strategy for highly efficient electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction.

Textiles are turning into a suitable next-generation sensing platform because of their good breathability, softness, and structural elasticity. Besides, research on self-powered piezoelectric sensors is a hot topic in wearable applications; they can perform long-term sensing and monitoring. Therefore, this paper mainly reviews the development progress of PVDF-based textiles on flexible piezoelectric sensors. In this paper, we first introduce the principle of the piezoelectric effect and the classification of piezoelectric materials; then we summarize the structure and characteristics of nanofiber mat-based, yarn-based, and fabric-based flexible piezoelectric sensors and the approaches that are employed to fabricate PVDF-based textile piezoelectric sensors such as melt spinning, electrospinning, and stretch forming processes, and so on. At last, we review their applicability in the application of electronic skin, human–computer interaction, healthcare, and human movement monitoring and demonstrate the facing difficulties and the future research directions of PVDF-based textile flexible sensors.

A Review on PVDF Nanofibers in Textiles for Flexible Piezoelectric Sensors

Inorganic perovskite quantum dots (PQDs), specifically CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, or I), have attracted considerable interest for their exceptional optoelectronic properties. However, their development is constrained by instability arising from particle mobility. The tendency of small-sized PQDs to aggregate into larger green-emitting PQDs presents a significant challenge to the widespread application of blue-emitting CsPbBr3 PQDs, particularly in scenarios demanding pure blue light emission. To tackle this challenge, we utilized a straightforward yet efficient synthesis approach to immobilize and encapsulate blue-emitting CsPbBr3 PQDs onto APTES-capped silica microspheres. In contrast to CsPbBr3 PQDs, CsPbBr3-A-SiO2 composites display outstanding stability under UV exposure, heat, and aqueous conditions, consistently maintaining a single blue emission peak in the photoluminescence spectrum, accompanied by an extended fluorescence lifetime. Transmission electron microscope analysis revealed the transformation of CsPbBr3 from dispersed quantum dots to aggregated nanostructures or nanorods with time, while encapsulated quantum dots maintained uniform dispersion. By encapsulating CsPbBr3-A-SiO2 composites on a 310 nm UV chip, stable blue light-emitting diodes with color coordinates approximately at (0.148, 0.05) can be fabricated. The synergistic application of unstable CsPbBr3 PQDs and stable CsPbBr3-A-SiO2 composites effectively enhance anticounterfeiting measures, information encryption, and digital display technologies. Integrating stable and unstable materials is anticipated to show promise in information encryption, security, and various other domains.

The integration of nanoparticles into concrete has emerged as a transformative approach in the field of construction materials, promising significant improvements in mechanical, durability, and functional properties. Given the rapid advancement and growing volume of research in this area, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis is essential to understand the development, collaboration patterns, and emerging trends. This study provides an extensive scientometric analysis analysis of the application of nanoparticles in concrete, focusing on data-driven visualization, collaboration networks, and emerging research hotspots. Utilizing advanced bibliometric tools and databases, a systematic analysis of scholarly publications from the past two decades was conducted. Key trends and patterns in the research landscape were identified, highlighting significant growth in publications and citations. Collaborative networks between researchers, institutions, and countries were mapped, revealing the dynamics of international and interdisciplinary collaborations. Co-citation and keyword co-occurrence analyses were employed to uncover thematic clusters and evolving research fronts. The findings indicate a strong interest in enhancing concrete properties through nanoparticles, with notable attention to nanomaterials such as nano SiO2, carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, nano TiO2 and nano CaCO3. This study summarizes the evolution of nanoparticle research in concrete and outlines future research opportunities, providing key insights for advancing the field.

Nanoparticles in Concrete: Data-Driven Visualization, Collaboration, and Trends

This study aimed to develop trastuzumab (HCT)-functionalized albumin (BSA)-coated, pyrotinib (Ptb)-loaded hollow mesoporous selenium (HSE) nanoparticles (HBHSEP) for the targeted delivery of HER2-positive breast cancer. Characterization of the pharmaceutical properties in vitro revealed that HBHSEP was well dispersed, and the particle size was 172 ± 3.4 nm. In vitro release experiments revealed that HBHSEP effectively controlled the release of Ptb in the tumor microenvironment (high glutathione concentration), with a cumulative release rate of 86.5 ± 4.2% over 48 h. Cell uptake experiments and in vivo imaging confirmed that HBHSEP have good tumor-targeting ability. The results of in vitro cell experiments, such as MTT, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, and in vivo antitumor experiments, confirmed that HBHSEP can significantly promote the apoptosis of SK-BR-3 cells and inhibit their proliferation. These findings strongly show that HBHSEP may be an effective targeted treatment for HER2-positive breast cancer.
