Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining and comparing the effect of face-to-face and virtual group training on the quality of life of postmenopausal women. Materials and methods: In this randomized controlled trial study, 96 postmenopausal women covered by the health service centers of Isfahan city were randomly assigned to two groups of face-to-face training and virtual training (48 people). The data collection tools included the questionnaire of demographic characteristics and the quality of life of postmenopausal women questionnaire. Face-to-face training sessions were held one day a week for 4 weeks. In the virtual training, video, audio and text, was placed in the WhatsApp group weekly for 4 weeks. Data were collected before the intervention and 4 weeks after the intervention and analyzed in SPSS software with the help of descriptive and analytical tests. A significance level of less than 0.05 was considered. Results: The results showed that in both face-to-face and virtual training groups, the mean scores of the total quality of life and in the areas of vasomotor symptoms, physical symptoms, psycho-social symptoms and sexual dysfunction decreased significantly after the intervention (P&lt;0.001). After the intervention, the mean quality of life scores between the two groups did not show a statistically significant difference (P&lt;0.05). Conclusion: Considering the positive effect of both face-to-face training and virtual training on improving the quality of life in menopausal women, the use of both types of training methods can be suggested in care and support programs for women during menopause.

Comparison of the effect of face-to-face and virtual group training on the quality of life of postmenopausal women: a randomized controlled trial

面对面与虚拟小组训练对绝经后妇女生活质量影响的比较：一项随机对照试验

Introduction: The covid-19 pandemic restrict face-to-face breastfeeding counseling. The present study aimed to investigate "the effect of telemidwifery counseling on breastfeeding self-efficacy of primiparous mothers during the covid-19 pandemic". Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 122 primiparous pregnant mothers referring to health centers from January to May 2022 participated. Random allocation was done using balanced blocks method. In addition to the usual counseling during prenatal care, the intervention group received virtual breastfeeding counseling individually on the social media platform during pregnancy. Breastfeeding self-efficacy, mother's perception of breastfeeding adequacy, and mother's breastfeeding status were investigated on the 5th, 15th, and 45th days after child birth. Results: The mean breastfeeding self-efficacy score on the fifth day after childbirth between the two intervention and control groups was not significantly different, but the mean difference of this score (95% confidence interval) between the two groups on the 15th day equals 4.13 (1.41- 6.86) and on the 45th day it was 6.62 (1.12- 4.41), which was significantly higher in the intervention group than the control group. There was no significant difference in the breastfeeding status of the mothers in the two groups during the follow-up period. The mean score of the mother's perception of breastfeeding adequacy in the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group only on the 45th day after delivery with a mean difference of 1.12(0.53-1.71). Conclusion: Telemidwifery breastfeeding counseling can be suggested as an effective method to increase the breast feeding self-efficacy of primiparous mothers.

The effect of telemidwifery counseling on breastfeeding self-efficacy in primiparous women during the covid-19 pandemic

Introduction: The effectiveness of nutritional supplements to relieve dysmenorrhea pain has been investigated in some studies. The present study aimed to review and summarize the available evidence on the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the severity of dysmenorrhea. Methods: In the present systematic review and meta-analysis, clinical trial studies were eligible to be included in the study if they examined the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the severity of dysmenorrhea. Academic databases including Scopus, PubMed, ISI and international clinical trial registration systems as well as Google Scholar were searched from the beginning of the establishment of the above databases until July 2022. Findings: In five studies with 368 people (185 intervention / 183 control), the effect of vitamin D on primary dysmenorrhea was investigated. The standardized mean difference of primary dysmenorrhea for the intervention group with vitamin D supplement compared to the control group was -1.57 with a 95% confidence interval of -0.67 to -2.47. In two studies with 107 people (46 intervention / 61 control) the effect of vitamin D on secondary dysmenorrhea was investigated. The standardized mean difference, the severity of secondary dysmenorrhea for the intervention group with vitamin D supplement compared to the control was 0.66 with a 95% confidence interval of -1.12 to 2.45. Conclusion: Considering the small number of studies and the risk of methodological bias in the selected studies and considering the wide confidence interval and inconclusive results, there is a need to design stronger methodological studies with a larger sample size.

The effect of vitamin D supplementation on the severity of dysmenorrhea: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background and Objective: Women’s satisfaction with the experience and process of childbirth is a decisive factor in the mental health of the family and society and also affects fertility intentions in that many women with bitter memories of a previous birth do not want to have children again. Accordingly, this study aimed to compare childbirth satisfaction based on the type of delivery performed at Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan, Iran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 242 pregnant women referred to Fatemieh Educational and Medical Center in Hamadan, Iran. Sampling was performed through available sampling among individuals who met the inclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from the participants. Data collection tools were the demographic characteristics questionnaire and the McKay Childbirth Satisfaction Rating Scale, which were completed two hours after delivery until the mother was discharged from the hospital. Study data were collected according to the objectives of the study and analyzed using the SPSS statistical software (version 23). The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of demographic variables. Out of 120 deliveries with spinal analgesia, 93 (77.5%) were dissatisfied with the delivery, and 27 (22.5%) were satisfied. In the routine delivery group, out of 122 patients, 98 (80.3%) were dissatisfied with the delivery, and 24 (19.7%) were satisfied. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of women’s satisfaction with childbirth (P=0.6). Conclusion: The findings show no statistically significant difference in women’s satisfaction with childbirth between the two methods of delivery, including spinal analgesia and routine delivery without analgesia.

Comparison of Childbirth Satisfaction Based on the Type of Delivery Performed in Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan

Background and Objective: Due to the growing trend of the cesarean section rate in Iran in the past years, the natural childbirth promotion program was implemented as one of the health system transformation plans in 2014. The present study aimed to assess the trend of changes in the percentage of cesarean deliveries following the implementation of this program in Hamadan province. Materials and Methods: This longitudinal study was conducted using secondary data to investigate the changes in the rate of cesarean delivery during 22 years. The data required for this study included deliveries from April 1998 to March 2019 by delivery type. The statistical analysis of this study was performed in joinpoint software (version 3.4) using the joining point regression method. Results: The percentage of cesarean deliveries in the whole province during the study period has constantly increased, from 32% in 2017 to 48% in 2019. The results of the joinpoint regression indicated an annual increase of 1.9% in the trend of cesarean section in Hamadan province. The trend has some joinpoints, none of which correspond to the timing of the implementation of the health evolution plan. Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, although the transformation plan has been able to reduce the increasing percentage of cesarean births, this amount of change was not sufficient to achieve the predetermined goals of the health transformation plan.

Epidemiologic Trends in Cesarean Section Delivery in Hamadan Province during 1998-2019 using Joinpoint Regression Analysis

Background and Objective: Educational programs can help improve the health status of cancer patients. Accordingly, the present study aimed to assess the impact of telenursing on the reduction of anxiety in prostate cancer patients after chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: This semi-experimental study was conducted using the available sampling method in 2022 on 60 people (30 people in each group) from prostate cancer patients referred to Shahid Mostafa Khomeini Hospital in Ilam, Iran. After random assignment, the control group received routine treatments, and the intervention group received telephone follow-up in addition to routine treatments for 12 weeks (twice in the first six weeks and once in the second six weeks). Data collection tools were Beck's demographic information and anxiety questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (paired and independent t-test and Chi-square) in SPSS software (version 20). Results: The mean anxiety scores between the intervention and control groups before the intervention were not statistically significant (P≥0.05). However, after the implementation of the intervention, this difference became significant so that the amount of anxiety decreased in the intervention group (P≤0.05). Conclusion: Telephone training and follow-up effectively reduce the anxiety of prostate cancer patients. This method is recommended to be performed by nurses for cancer patients.

Effect of Distance Education (Telenursing) on Reducing the Anxiety of Prostate Cancer Patients after Chemotherapy: A Semi-experimental Study

远程教育（远程护理）对前列腺癌化疗后患者焦虑情绪的缓解作用：一项半实验研究

Background and Objective: Despite the definite positive effect of wearing masks in preventing diseases, the level of adherence has been reported to be very low in some communities. This study was conducted to determine psycho-social factors affecting the use of masks during the COVID-19 pandemic at Be'sat Hospital in Hamadan, Iran. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 384 people referring to the Be'sat Medical Research and Training Hospital in Hamadan in 2022. The samples were selected using the availability sampling method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that included 51 questions to assess the participants' demographic, economic, social, cultural, and spiritual status and was completed by face-to-face interview method. The data were analyzed in SPSS 26 software using Chi-square, Monte Carlo, Mann-Whitney, and Student's t-tests were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean age of the participants was 36.76±11.71 years. More than half of the participants (54.7%) were men. The frequency of wearing a mask at the time of the interview was 48.4%. According to the findings, the frequency of using a mask was significantly lower in men than in women. A significant relationship was observed between wearing a mask and being single, being more educated, living in the city, and lacking a smoking history (P&lt;0.001). Moreover, higher economic, cultural, and social status showed a significant relationship with using a mask (P&lt;0.001). Conclusion: Economic, social, and cultural factors were identified as the influential factors in mask use; therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to preventive behaviors, social norms, and culturalization during epidemics.

Psycho-social Factors Affecting the use of Masks during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Be'sat Hospital in Hamadan: A Descriptive Study

Background and Objective: Performing preventive activities with active participation of patients and adhering to treatment regimen are the most important behaviors relating to diabetes that ensure the health of the patients and reduce the severity of their complications. This study aimed to evaluate the adherence to treatment regimen in patients with type 2 diabetes referred to Sanandaj diabetes clinic, 2018, Iran. Materials and Methods: In the present study, 181 patients with diabetes were referred to the Sanandaj Diabetes Clinic in Kurdistan, Iran. Following the inclusion criteria, they were selected using a convenience sampling method. Data was collected using a demographic checklist and a standard treatment adherence questionnaire in chronic patients. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software (version 16). The collected data was analyzed by descriptive (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential tests. Results: The level of treatment adherence to the studied units was moderate. The mean overall score and score of different dimensions of treatment adherence in patients with abnormal glycosylated hemoglobin was significantly higher than in patients with normal glycosylated hemoglobin (P&lt;0.001). In addition, the mean score of treatment adherence in the ability dimension was higher in insulin users than in pill users (P=0.042). In the commitment dimension, pill users were more than insulin users (P=0.023). Conclusion: Considering the moderate level of treatment adherence, it seems necessary to provide solutions to improve the level of treatment adherence, especially in integrating treatment with life and enhancing the patients’ desire to participate in treatments.

Evaluation of Adherence to Treatment Regimen in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

Background and Objective: Inadequate knowledge of self-care in hemodialysis patients deteriorates the condition of their disease and reduces their life expectancy. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of self-care program training on hope among hemodialysis patients referring to Tohid Hospital in Sanandaj, in 2021. Materials and Methods: In the present quasi-experimental study, all patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected by the census method and then placed in two intervention and control groups. A demographic form and the Herth Hope Index were recorded in both groups before and one month after the intervention. The intervention included three face-to-face educational sessions about hemodialysis, drug treatment, fluid intake, and diet, which were provided during hemodialysis. Patients in the control group received the necessary care according to routine. The data were analyzed in SPSS16 software using paired t-test, independent t-test, and Chi-square tests. Results: The findings of the study showed that the mean hope score was 17.86±2.31 in the intervention group and 17.87±1.89 in the control group before the intervention (t=-1.817, P=0.710), demonstrating that both groups had poor hope levels. However, after the intervention, the mean score of hope was obtained at 20.16±4.43 in the intervention group and 17.96±2.41 in the control group, which had a statistically significant difference (t=1.493, P&lt;0.001). Conclusion: Self-care training leads to increased awareness and improvement of the quality of care in patients and increases their hope. Therefore, improving the level of self-care in patients should always be a part of nursing care.

Effectiveness of Self-Care Training on the Hope of Hemo-dialysis Patients

自我护理训练对血液透析患者希望感的影响

Background and Objective: Professional values can play an important role in the quality of the professional life of nurses by motivating them to deal with ethical issues and guiding the way they interact with patients and their colleagues. This study aimed to determine the role of professional values on the quality of professional life of nurses working in Ayatollah Khatami Hospital in Khatam City, Yazd, Iran, in 2021. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-cross-sectional research, the study population and research sample were the same. Accordingly, 103 nurses working in Ayatollah Khatami Hospital affiliated with Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, central Iran, were included in the study by census method. The data collection tools were questionnaires of demographic information, professional quality of life, and Nurses Professional Values Scale-Revised. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS (version 21). Results: The average score of professional values was 105.91±13.38. Among the dimensions of quality of professional life, the highest and lowest mean values were related to the burnout dimension (36.06±5.50) and the secondary traumatic stress dimension (21.30±3.46), respectively. There was an inverse and significant statistical relationship between secondary traumatic stress and professional values (r=-0.175, P=0.03). There was no significant relationship between the two dimensions of job burnout and compassion fatigue with professional values. The regression analysis showed that professional values can be considered a predictor of secondary traumatic stress. Conclusion: Based on the results, nurses who provided care based on professional values had a lower level of secondary traumatic stress. Therefore, nursing managers should strive to promote awareness of professional values and provide necessary working conditions to reduce secondary traumatic stress in nurses.
