The American Journal of Human Biology is the official journal of the Human Biology Association. This bi-monthly, peer-reviewed journal is published internationally and focuses on original research reports, theoretical articles, and timely reviews in the interdisciplinary field of human biology. As the official journal of the Human Biology Association, it also publishes research abstracts presented at its annual scientific meetings and relevant book reviews. The journal seeks academic manuscripts that address various aspects of human biology, health, and disease, particularly those emphasizing comparative, developmental, ecological, or evolutionary perspectives. The interdisciplinary areas covered by the journal include, but are not limited to, epidemiology, genetic variation, population biology and demography, physiology, anatomy, nutrition, growth and aging, physical performance, physical activity and fitness, ecology and evolution, and their interactions. The journal publishes foundational, applied, and methods-oriented research from all fields, including measurement, analytical techniques, strategies, and computer applications in human biology. Like many other biology-oriented disciplines, the field of human biology has experienced significant growth and diversification in recent years, and the journal's goals and scope have expanded to reflect this growth and the diversity of its membership. The journal is committed to timely reviews and prioritizes the publication of manuscripts with novel or timely findings, as well as those of unusual interest.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
