Biomedical Microdevices is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the study of microelectromechanical systems (BIOMEMS) and the applications of nanotechnology in medical diagnostics and therapeutics in the fields of medicine and biology. The journal covers a wide range of topics including design, characterization, testing of microfabrication systems, modeling, and clinical validation, as well as the integration of these technologies in chips and larger functional units. Specific areas of interest include neural stimulation and recording systems, bioseparation technologies (such as nanofilters and electrophoresis devices), miniaturized analytical and DNA recognition systems, biosensors, and controlled release of drugs and biomolecules for cell and tissue studies, tissue engineering, and cell transplantation. The journal encourages reports on fundamental and applied research in materials science, biochemistry, and physics related to biomedical microdevices and nanotechnology. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles and validation of therapeutic or imaging efficacy in animal models; biocompatibility; biochemical modification of microfabricated devices, particularly regarding nonspecific protein adsorption, and active immobilization and patterning of proteins on micro/nanofabricated surfaces; fluid dynamics in micro/nanofluidic channels; electromechanical and structural responses of micro/nanofabrication systems; interactions of microdevices with cells and tissues, including studies on biocompatibility and biodegradability; and variations in system characteristics as a function of micro/nanofabrication parameters.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors
Books Citation Format
Here are examples of references for authored and edited books.
