Areas of interest include the airways, pulmonary circulation, pulmonary endothelial and epithelial cells, pleura, neuroendocrine and immune cells in the lung, neurons involved in the control of breathing, as well as diaphragm and chest muscle cells. The journal encompasses processes such as gas exchange, metabolic control at the cellular level, intracellular signaling, gene expression, genomics, macromolecule turnover, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, cell motility, secretory mechanisms, membrane function, surfactants, matrix components, mucus and lining materials, lung defense, macrophage function, transport of salts, water, and proteins, development and differentiation of the respiratory system, and responses to environmental challenges.

Journal Citation Format

Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.

Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.

A journal article with 1 author

A journal article with 2 authors

A journal article with 3 authors

A journal article with 5 or more authors
