Cell Host and Microbe was launched in March 2007. The journal aims to provide a forum for scientists studying microbes to exchange ideas and concepts with those researching host immunity, cell biology, and the molecular responses following colonization or infection by a microbe. Cell Host and Microbe publishes new findings related to microbes, including bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses, covering a wide range of topics from molecular and cellular biology to translational research, with a particular emphasis on the interface between microbes and their hosts (vertebrates, invertebrates, or plants). The unifying theme is the comprehensive study of the interactions and communications between microbes (whether pathogenic, non-pathogenic, or symbiotic), each other, their hosts, and the cellular environments they inhabit. Research published in Cell Host and Microbe is expected to be of significant importance not only within its field but also of interest to researchers beyond its immediate scope. In addition to primary research manuscripts, Cell Host and Microbe will also publish expert analyses, reviews, and commentaries on current topics of interest in the field.

Journal Citation Format
Those examples are references to articles in scholarly journals and how they are supposed to appear in your bibliography.
Not all journals organize their published articles in volumes and issues, so these fields are optional. Some electronic journals do not provide a page range, but instead list an article identifier. In a case like this it's safe to use the article identifier instead of the page range.
A journal article with 1 author
A journal article with 2 authors
A journal article with 3 authors
A journal article with 5 or more authors

Sometimes references to web sites should appear directly in the text rather than in the bibliography.
